At NOIRELLE, silk-specific sewing machines are operated by artisans who understand the subtle tension required for this slippery fabric.
A minimum of 15 stitches per 2.5 cm is required—far tighter than standard industry practice.
This construction ensures that seams remain sleek and strong, preventing the “gaping” often seen in lesser garments.
This precision extends to our Baby Rolled Hems, executed with exacting front and back stitching to create a polished, weighted edge that allows the silk to drape like water rather than curling.
Inside, we employ French Seam construction to completely enclose raw edges, ensuring that only smooth silk touches your skin—never a rough thread or scratchy edge.
